Steelcase Coffee Table
Reclaimed juniper, coffee resin inlay, brass
- Steelcase teamed up with the Pablove Cancer Foundation to raise money for cancer research. Asking each participant to create a table using Steelcase legs, each creative piece was auctioned off to the public. The table top is a found slab of local reclaimed juniper, inlayed with crushed coffee beans and resin, with a single bar of brass. The table design was referenced from maps depicting areas of homelessness in Los Angeles.
CASA Foundation Wall Shelf
Maple ply, walnut pegs, industrial rubber bands, laser cut plex, stain.
- The CASA Foundation partnered with ZGF Architects to create a custom shelf system in the children’s room, located inside one of Los Angeles’s courthouses. Challenged to create a unique way to hold books, stuffed toys and blankets, I crafted letters approximately 8’ in height. I used a peg system and industrial rubber bands to not only hold several toys, but to also reflect the playful nature of the space.
Tidal Display Stands for Fred Segal Store
Maple plywood, laser etched plex, hand painted logo, custom hangers, white wood stain
-Tidal New York wanted a more sophisticated display stand in the elegant Fred Segal location at LAX International Airport. Each stand holds over 75+pairs with 360 views of the merchandise.
-I engineered my own hanging system with hidden set screws and threaded steel rods for a super clean look. Custom crates had to be made in order to ship the product safely to the location.
-the Tidal New York logo was updated and had to be retrofitted. The Fred Segal logo was recessed and hand painted, Inlay set screws hold threaded stainless steel rods with recessed Tidal logo.
Lighting Fixtures
Walnut, white oak, 3D printed lampshades
-experimenting with different ways to incorporate powder printing techniques into light shades, I created a series of lighting fixtures that pay homage to George Nelson and other modernist influences. I found the powder prints have a natural, subtle and soft way of reflecting light, either as a solid shade or as shells. Some have switches built into the wood bases others located further down the cloth cord.
Cat Litter Box
Walnut, leather pull, felt, brass.
-not just a toilet I have to look at everyday, I dreamed of a cat litter box that would be considered a beautiful object that can be placed anywhere in the home. Inspired from old western outhouses, I modernized the design to focus more on the house aspect. I engineered a convenient pull drawer for frequent litter cleaning as well as the ability to lift the roof from the base for the litter box to be fully removed.
Cat Litter Box
Walnut
-designed to be entered from the top in order to prevent litter from being shoveled out of the box by messy cats. Also included a door for easy access and cleaning. The top can be removed to gain full access to the liter box.
Cat Shelves
Pine, acrylic paint, black wood stain
-needing something for my cats to climb, this is my take on typical cat shelves. I always try to make objects that are appealing to the viewer as well as functional. The top shelf serves as a bed while the others can be used as storage or cat perches. The bottom shelf is perfect for outdoor viewing of squirrels and birds.
Cat Shelves, concept #2
Bleached Ash
-As a request, I designed to have softer edges and to become less pronounced on the wall. Another cat perch was added for two cats to sleep simultaneously.
Credenza
Walnut plywood, acrylic hand painted pattern
-living in Los Angeles as well as the proximity of Joshua Tree, I wanted to create a piece that was a reflection of sunsets and desert motifs. Rather than having the electronics take up space on the clean vast surface of the credenza, I designed a floating shelf system above. The credenza also splits in two for extra storage and to hide cords.
Audio Cabinet
White Oak, painted sliding doors
-I designed this shelf to specifically house my record collection and turntable. I engineered sliding doors to hide various objects while also adding an extra graphical element. Each unit can be separated and oriented in different ways depending on the layout of the room.
Plant Stands
Walnut, white oak
-inspired by Japanese and mid-century design, I like to make beautiful platforms for my house plants.
Bike Rack
Maple, felt, leather, steel rod, industrial L brackets
-I wanted to design a super clean yet simple bike rack. Reinforced L brackets are hidden by maple overlays as well as the mounting bolts. A curved notch allows for the bike frame to sit firmly in place. Felt or leather to prevent scratching. A helmet can also be placed on top.
Office Credenza
Maple, hardware, powder coat paint
-designed for two office meeting spaces, I constructed two credenzas, both 7 feet in length. Each door panel opens for storage, a French cleat suspends it from the wall.
Display Table
Maple, slate stain
-waterfall table designed to display architectural models. The simple design and stain used matches the overall theme and color palate of the office. I constructed 4, with each table being 29” T x 6’L in dimension.
Magna Frame Display Case
Plex, applied printed graphic and frames
-Magnaframe had a very specific look in mind when needing a display case for their product. The clear jewel case adds dimension while the brick printed graphic provides grit. Applied contrasting letters guides the viewer. Intended to be purchase by the stores selling the frames, the unit can be hung from the wall or placed on a surface.
